Time for one of the best gaming posts I've done so far.
Here's a list of the best pets and animals in gaming. This is my personal opinion, feel free to add to the list with your little furry and not so furry favourites.
Let's get into the list:

Number 4 - Scooby Doo from Scooby Doo and the Spooky Swamp
This might count as cheating to some people, but I stick by it. It's a fun game with a great art style and good replayability, this already fun game is added to by having a fun side kick in Scooby Doo who has a fun attack and great quips that don't get annoying. It definitely helps that Scooby Doo was one of my favourite cartoons as a kid and because of that Scooby Doo get a solid number four spot on this list.

Number 3 - Pikachu from the Pokemon Games
This furry little mouse creature comes next in the list, maybe he is a basic Pokemon, but he is cute, loyal and protective, all traits you'd want in a companion. He is also smart and sweet, excitable and friendly what more could you ask for. He is also stubborn and has a lot of personality, all of this makes Pikachu more than a pet, for these reasons Pikachu lands the third place on the list.

Number 2 - Dogmeat From Fallout
In second place is the best dog in video game history, again maybe this is my bias because I had a German Shepard exactly like Dogmeat when I was younger. Dogmeat was based on a real-life German Shepherd named River who belonged to a developer at Bethesda. River was used for motion capture, and many of the character's behaviors and features in Fallout 4.
Unfortunately River passed away in June 2021, that makes this spot on the list even more special. All dogs go to heaven and River is definitely a celebrity up there.

Number 1 - Stray from Stray
Number one on the list is the sweet little ginger fluff ball from Stray, I love this little cat so much and he was part of the reason that I wanted a ginger cat. This game was gorgeous to look at with its Bladerunner aesthetic (which is also a movie that I really love) it's got a dystopian look with robots, machines and mutant bacteria.
The tension in this game is insane and instantly makes you protective and attached to this cute little bugger. Apparently a movie is in the works and I am looking so forward to seeing Stray on the big screen.
If you like this post, then you'll definetly enjoy this one about video games and real-life violence.
Thank you for reading and don't forget to let me know in the comments who your favourite pets and animals are.
